Kayaking on river Gauja in Gauja National Park.
River Gauja is one of the most beautiful rivers for boat rides; therefore it is most popular river in Latvia. It starts form the region of Alauksta Lake, it takes her curls trough all Vidzeme, further comes Virieši, Gaujiena, than border of Estonia, than floaters city Stren?i, continues to Valmiera, C?sis, Sigulda, In?ukalns and than ends in the Riga gulf. Total length of 452km and fall of 234m. Gauja, as excellent river for boat trips chooses many adventure seekers with canoes or rubber boats. Most popular section of river is between Valmiera and In?ukalns. River changes with the nature surrounding, In wider legs its peaceful, but besides L?gatne, you have to pay a bit more attention to the river float. Corner after corner low grade changes to higher grown with large pine trees. Large majestic views of river high grades are more like similar to flying. Reflection of sunset or sunrise to the sides of red rocks, fog covered coast…sound of some scared forest duck, beautiful!
