09.00 Pick up of guests from hotel.
10.30 Approximate arrival to the Rundale Palace.
The Palace was summer residence of aristocracy of the Russian Empire for hundreds of years.
This is the largest, least damaged Baroque Palace in Baltics designed by F. B. Rastrelli.
The famous Italian architect also designed Jelgava Palace and Winter Palace in St. Petersburg.
12.00 Coffee break or light lunch in the Palace.
13.00 Trip continued to the city of Jelgava through the agricultural part of the country.
14.00 Aproximate arrival to Jelgava.
Entrance to Academia Petrina or beautifull Russian Orthodox church.
The Academia was first establishment of higher education in the region of Latvia.
Among it's pupils were the future presidents of Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
15.00 Photo stop at Jelgava Palace and drive around the island of the Palace.
On the way back to Riga travelers will also see the remains of former
industrial glory of Latvia - the RAF and it residential part.
RAF - Riga Auto Plant was located in Jelgava. In it's heyday it was manufacturing
minivans for the entire USSR and employed around 3000 workers.
